Golie Edward Parker, Jr., age 47, of Lorain, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at his home following a long illness.
Ed was born on March 24, 1965 in Lorain, Ohio and graduated from Vermilion High School in 1983 and EHOVE where he studied auto body.
He was a supervisor at Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake, where he worked for over 23 years.
Ed was a member of the Elks Lodge in Lorain, loved to golf, and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. He was skilled at many things and could always be counted on to help with any project.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Monica (nee Collins) Parker; his daughter, Allison Bergstedt of North Fairfield; his son, Brenton Parker of Norwalk; granddaughter, Makenna Parker, of Norwalk; his mother, Janie (nee Franklin) Parker of Berlin Heights; his sisters, Debbie Gregory of Taylorsville, KY, Pam Massey, of New Stanton, PA, Lorie McCormick, of Lorain; and his brothers, Terry Parker, of Norwalk and Jimmy Parker, of Berlin Heights.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Golie Edward Parker, Sr.
The Parker Family will receive friends on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Private inurnment for the family will take place at a later date.
