Ernesto Sanabria, age 82, of Elyria, passed away Monday, February, 27, 2012 at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake.
Ernesto was born on April 26, 1929 in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico to the late Juan Negron and Juana Sanabria.
He was employed by Ford Motor Company, Lorain, retiring after 30 years of service.
Ernesto was a member of the House of Praise Church and a member of the UAW Local 425.
He loved spending time outdoors, gardening, cooking and traveling. He was an avid reader, especially of the Bible. His most precious time was the time he spent at family gatherings with the love of his life, Maria Luisa.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Maria Luisa Velez Sanabria; step-children, Gloria (Art) Wragg, of Lorain, OH, Susi (Rocco) Ybarra, of Bossier City, LA, Frank (Carmen) Velez, of Beverly Hills, FL, Ismael (Marilyn) Velez, of Amherst, OH, Noelia (David) Nodal, of Amherst, OH, Betsy (Bruce) Neubauer, of Elyria, OH, and Lisa (Mike) Satonick, of Avon,OH; 11 step-grandchildren; 21 step great-grandchildren and 1 step great-great-grandchild.
The Sanabria family will receive friends on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, where funeral services will be conducted following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Gilbert Silva, of House of Praise Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
